Does any one have any ideas on a decent method of supporting lipo's in my cat 2000?

I've tried tape, but it wasn't very successful as the chassis is not cut for it.

Can anyone think of a product for another car that I can maybe adapt?

Cheers

Dave, could you chain drill and file the chassis to make proper slots for tape or do you want to keep the chassis stock?. Make sure its the proper reinforced tape. I normally put a couple of runs of tape around the slots on the chassis to make sure the holding tape doesn't get cut on the edges.

I don't really want to cut the chassis, I was more thinking of a frame type setup that sits round the bottom of the battery to keep it located.
I'm just not sure where to get such a thing, I've had a look on the fibre-lyte web site, but no joy.

Dave.
I reckon it could be done with parts from the B44.1.
The battery posts and carbon straps with thumb screws would hold the lipos in place.
We could make lipo locators to stick to the bottom of the lipos if they have a flat bottom.
Best thing to do is come over with the stuff and I will check out what you need.

Making a lipo locater from fibreglass and glueing it to the bottom of the saddles works well in the old cat but you do need to swap out the old straps for modern battery posts and make some flat battery straps, fibreglass again works well and is easy to work with.

You will need to remove some material from the battery posts as well because the standard strap mounting holes aren't far enough apart to allow the lipo ti fit easily between battery posts.

I had the same problem in my cat but the locater's solved most of the movement issues. Or you can use the cf lipo tray from the B44 as Kenny mentioned, you will need to cut it in two it's two halves and you still might need to re-drill a hole or two in the chassis to mount it. I haven't checked the hole spacing myself yet but I do have a B44 tray. The tray is about £20+ if memory serves.

Its all done Bryan.

Didnt have to remove any material from the chassis or drill any holes.
Made some locators for the bottom of the lipo and used the B44 posts, thumbscrews and straps.
Added some weights along the center of the chassis and Bobs yer uncle.
The lipos are solid and looks good too.
