Hi All,

I have a Novak 3.5R motor and have just purchased a Nosram Matrix Evolution 07 speedo from John.

My question is, will the Novak motor be OK to use with the Nosram speedo? Mirage have advised against using the Novak 3.5 with the Nosram although the ESC Specs say it can take down to 3.5 turn brushless.....

I remember seeing someone at Snetterton using an LRP TC brushless speedo with a Novak 3.5r motor and as the LRP and Nosram are basically the same speedo hopefully this will be fine?

Any advice welcome?

Cheers.

it will work fine with the novak motor bud as long as the sensor wire is plugged in

Says on the instruction manual that is should be OK with the 3.5 aswell Dan, not had a chance to get out to the post office with it yet, but you'll have it for the 29th.

Plugging the sensor wire in wont make the motors thermal protection work though. Novak motors have a built in thermal protection as well as the speedos protection. It only works with Novak Speedos.

With a low wind mod like the 3.5 this shouldn;t cause a problem, as the speedo will thermal before the motor. But this is not the case with some of the higher wind motors, and the motor can get hotter than the speedo.

And to my knowledge the sensor wire doesn't power it so it would work fine anyway??

Yeh Dave, they'll run without the sensor wire being plugged in, but it might cog a bit, and you wont have impact/thermal/water protection etc
