Well have you?
Iv been racing for a fair bit now and to be honest im getting a bit bored.
Not of big/sunday meetings they rock there a bit different and you usually have a good laugh. Its more club meetings were I just cant seem to be bothered making the effort.
Part of this is probably down to racing twice a week which im definently going to cut down on, so I think from the very near future I will be leaving Ayr and just attending Falkirk on a Friday.
Anyway just wondering if anyone else has ever got bored, or to poor to continue dear lord when I think of the money........
Im actually just a bit bored just now and trying to avoid cutting the grass, oh and I wont be at the club tonight Daves going to some rally thing or other!

I have to admit that over the last year I've not had as much fun as I used to have. I think going to college in Aberdeen buggered things up a bit and I was out of the loop for quite a while.
Another thing is that all the guys, and girl, that I started out with and had a great night with have all left. The only exception being DM but I hardly get the chance to race alongside him now.
I can see your point Marc, and I agree :(

i think everyone gets bored of racing after a while, certainly if you race at the same places all the time and don't get the chance to race elsewhere much.
I think that touring cars are pretty dull to drive which doesn't help if your getting bored.
but from time to time it probably does some good to have a break from club racing for a couple of weeks, you enjoy it more when you go back.

I have been through that stage myself and stopped racing altogether.
To be honest I was doing too much as well. Running 3 cars and 3 classes.
It can get very expensive! When the off road scene died and touring cars took off I decided to pack in because I found them boring.
I havent raced for around 6 years but would start again tomorrow if off road started again.
Im sure the guys like Ross Irwin and Big Leckie will agree that off road racing is a much better, cleaner style of racing.
Maybe u just need a change?

the week to week humdrum can get old after a while, especially once you get to a point where you just go on auto pilot.
The week I had back home in February was great for me as it was all different people, and a different surface just for a change.
We tend to mix it up a bit more over here, Off Road being the only game in town in the Summer, and then back indoors and on road in the Winter.
Also, for me, I find collecting the oldies lots of fun, and just keeps things interesting.
Also, beer, women and real cars come along for a bit, then you end up with 1 woman, a sensible real car, and no more beer then all of a sudden toy car racing sounds like loads of fun again !
Seriously though, everyone gets jaded by it from time to time, go to some different events, travel, whatever, but know this: because of this hobby, I have friends all over the world, have been places I had never heard of, and have have some of my best times racing toy cars ( mind you I have also been out for dinner, or just out for a good ol' skinful with a lot of the other racers as well)

I have considered buggy racing it does look like a hell of a lot of fun.
The only problem has been financially as I am a poor poor student, also the lack of facilities for them up here. If I had a buggy I would want to race it on proper tracks and unfortunatly Scotland just dont have em.

hi
i find the best way to aleviate boredom is to diversify
diversify classes even if its a fun RTR car you can have a fresh challenge

I went through a stage of boredom during my 2nd year of racing, and it took something fresh to recapture the interest...
Enter website...
Now its not boredom, its a busy schedule thats keeping me off the race track, work every sunday = no SRCA...first outdoor racing this year will be at the GP, and now work every 2nd friday + the end of school getting close (parties and the likes!) means no racing between the 4th June and 16th of July...thats what i call defending a championship!
One thing ive never done is own any other kind of RC vehicle! Bought a buggy a year ago from Mr Minimad, and its been used once by Ross...partly financial, following on from what Marc said earlier...
What will happen when i leave for Uni is also up for debate!

Hey don't use that as an excuse
If I can manage every Friday from Aberdeen, arriving home just as the first heat starts, for nearly two years (I only ever missed two race nights because of a late train  ) I think Edinburger will be a doddle :D

Well, i feel the same as my bro, im just bored of it.
Frccc is good for the banter but ayr just got so dull, everyone who made it a good club moved on years ago.
I think the main reason i am bored of rc is cause im more into Halo 2 online, or should i say addicted.
although its not the racing im bored of its the traveling and sitting about that gets to me.

No I have video evidence that you were at the last one, you just didn't have anything to drive ;-)
I'm up for another one before I go back, access isn't so good now but that just makes it more interesting!
