i see that rediculously massive layout has been chosen for the srca round, fine for modified but folk are going to be killing 19's round that, surely something more sensible could have been chosen, i think track layout 3 would be good and encourage some good close racing and passing moves with the tight hairpin at the end of the fastest part of the track,.....
anyone else got thoughts or opinions??

New BRCA rules are out for the superstock class, so no1 is gonna be running 19ts anyway

The BRCA site, Racechat, this site.
Basically the price limit for brushless is £75, so I would suggest that anyone who wants to be competitive this year, will be forced to run brushless

ok found the regulations, no list yet though, pitty.
what makes you think that to be compettitive people will be forced to run brushless?

I dont think brushed motors will compete outdoors with motors at that end of the price range.

At this moment in time, I'm not sure there are any motors that compky with the rules, to make a list from. I'm not 100% sure on this but I haven't seen any with 10.5 or 13.5 engraved into them?

im not so sure on that, each will have their advantages but i dont think either brushed or brushless will dominate outdoor, id even go as far as to predict the A final at round one will be a even split if enough folk at the higher end of the driver ability scale choose to go brushless.
i for one will be trying brushless once a list becomes available. hopefully the list will appear sooner than i expect

I think the A final probably will be a split. But I would suggest that if one of the top 4 racers buys brushless, he'll dominate the other three. Right up until the rain starts.

well i will be buying brushless and as one of the top 4 from last year you think i would dominate the rest......
i really dont think that would happen, being up at the top regardless of any power/equipment advantage is not easy
previous years form goes right out the window as there is so much new technology and changes this year and i think this year will be the most open one for a while, i could name probably 6 or 7 folk who could easily be champion this year (weather and form depending), i think a lot of it will come down to picking the right combination for the right tracks and i expect 6 cell and brushless will probably be the more favoured combination for most over lipo due to the higher initial voltage and efficiency.
like you say though garry, the wet changes everything

Kevin, Track 4 is only 150ft longer than track 2 and since the smallest track is 480ft (track 5) this is not very much more. We ran this track last year and after 1 or 2 moans on the Saturday nobody said anything on the Sunday:p in fact for the last leg of the A it was raining and everyone went out, I can't remeber seeing that before:p.
Anyway the main reason for this track is to keep both tracks the same for mod & stock and give us less hassle changing the track and re-arranging marshall points, that being said I will bear in mind your request for track 3 for next year or maybe Dundee will pick this track for their round 8-)

I think ur being very modest there Kev. I would suggest a lot less people capable of winning it, and I honestly think if you run brushless and they dont, then you would have it won in no time. I agree on that combination probably also being the quickest. Although I'm planning on running Lipo and brushed

I think ur being very modest there Kev. I would suggest a lot less people capable of winning it, i think any one who ended up in the top 8 last year could win it given a little luck, take for example the likes of kenny falconer, 8th last year but was runner up the previous year and only by 3 points then add in the likes of chris clarke who was very quick but didnt do all the rounds (and i do beleive he is planning to do the full series this year) the change to the scoring system will shake things up a lot, there is less points up for grabs and little margin for error.
and I honestly think if you run brushless and they dont, then you would have it won in no time. very much doubt it.
I agree on that combination probably also being the quickest. Although I'm planning on running Lipo and brushed  at least we agree on the combination lol
