Anyone got opinions on what stonehaven anti clockwise is going to be like at round one then??

It will be good for 19t racing if everyone can get their head around going anti-clockwise.
Thats about it.

I had been lookig forward to the start of the outdoor series and to getting to grips with modified again, however having seen the layout I have just lost a fair amount of interest.
I see the layout for the 'stars' coming to race modified at the GP is the full gp circuit so why is the SRCA running this 'Walt Disney' design?
 Disappointed

I agree with you Colin.
Has the decision been finalised?
Im disapointed that we will be running on a track with no straight.
Modified will be hopeless around there.

you are not the only disappointed one colin.
iv spoke to a few folk on the phone today, couple of them intend to withdraw their entries for this round and a couple of them had not entered yet and now will not do so.
i really fail to see how this layout in anti clockwise direction can encourage good racing for either class, i remember back in 2006 when dundee last run a round that a number of people (myself included) caused a fuss about running anti clockwise on a circuit that was designed to run clockwise, granted it was the same for all but that was a meeting that could have been a lot better than it was and i think for the opening round of the series most folk would be looking for some familiarity (layout and direction) in order to gain an idea how new cars/cells/motors etc are performing.

I have been asked to guage opinions of what track people would like to be used?
What would people be happy with? Not anti-clockwise and the straight for modified?
And would pro-stock people like to use the ful straight or the cut off?
All information will be passed to dundee club.

I vote track 1 for modified.

Track 2 looks good for 19t, the motors get abused and can't cope aswell as the mods can with the long straight. I suggest they run track 1 or 4 for modified and 2, 3 or 5 for 19t.

I also think that track 1 should be used for mod and track 2 for 19t, it is our national series so we should be trying to use the best tracks.

Does anyone know which tracks SDRCC are going to use? Its all well using the best tracks, but using something different adds a bit of variety and stops the locals gaining an advantage. I doubt many of them have ever ran the track backwards.

I would prefer the Gp circuit layout 1.
As for local advantage - I dont think the layout itself is what provides an advantage more having knowledge/experience of setting the car up on that surface (gearing being the noteable exception), besides I doubt if Toseland complained about running the standard layout in motogp at the weekend just because he had never raced there and everyone else had

I take it you never seen the interview after the race
Because thats exactly what he did. Said he could have pushed harder in the mild rain, but due to spots on his visor, he had to take it easier because he didn;t know which parts of the track would have grip etc.
And I wasn;t complaining about it. Just pointing it out.

Hi Dan,
My point was more that if SDRCC are going to use tracks 1+2 at their round, then for variety, it would be nice to pick from 3,4 and 5
