Yep my son likes the look of this car and we feel it might be the next step up for him after the TB-02 that he runs just now.Overall i think this looks awesome.

oooo very fancy. A TB02 with lots of carbon....never a bad thing
I've stuck alot of EvoIII bits on mine and it does make a difference (well I think it does anyway.... )
Can't wait to see this 8)

Like the carbon fibre bit at the spur :D makes changing the pinion a lot easier

:) looks as though it could be a bit flexable as no top deck brace probably a hopup otherwise G8, but price is yet to be announced rumoured around $400 I think, keep us posted Alan

The original TB-02 doesn't have a top deck brace and its fine  When you see how thick the bottom tub is you realise there's no need for a top deck

 thanks Gordon me not looking at the pic properly I see what you mean. I was thinking of the TB01 which does have one.
Still would like to know the final price though in UK; as price from rainbowten HK is 29800yen about £149 plus shipping so in UK would work out as circa £170 so not bad eh  when yer getting one? :)

Yeh  It does a bit doesn't it

Now lets not go down that road again!
It's a shaft drive car with a tub chassis....is there any feasable way it could look different?
I think this thing looks really cool. The carbon fibre chassis braces are a great idea, the bit chunky plastic ones on the TB 02 are a right pain if you need to do anything quickly! :x
Shame they didn't bother changing the shock towers with carbon fibre too... now that would be really trick 8)

I wonder if the shock towers are plastic re-inforced with carbon, like the suspension arms on the 415 and Evo 4?

possibly...it's difficult to tell from the pics :?
The good new is that the shock towers from the TB Evo III Surikarn fit straight on (I know they do...my TB02 has them  ) so if you really wanted then to be carbon fibre it's not that much hassle fitting them. (but remember they have to be Surikarn ones...the normal Evo III ones are different and won't fit  )

Just how easy is it to get the surikarn bits these days?

I'm not too sure how they are NOW but a just before Christmas there were bits almost everywhere on EBay, so I'd imagine there are still a good few places that stock the bits. 8)

Well you'll all get to see this car on friday as due to unforseen circumstances i've had to build it for Dale so he can finish this season. His other car has gave up the ghost so his new one will be there on friday.I must say it's a nice kit with all the latest revisions on suspension from Tamiya so we'll see how he goes eh.
Very Nice

Have the diffs on the TB02 finally expired Scott? Thats a shame. Funny thing is that I've never had any bother with the diffs in my TB02
Can't wait to see this new machine, then see what bits are worth getting for mine :D
scotty
7th June 2005, 12:57 PM
no ross that's 4 diffs went.1 thing in the new car is that the diffs are built a little different eg the plates on the diff are different so i'll wait and see if it makes any difference in this car.I had never had any probs with the old car's diffs untill it was about 9 months old and 1 went and from there it just never worked again.
Maxxed_Ross
7th June 2005, 03:45 PM
Sound very similar to my evo III problems, and since the diffs are the same it must be a design fault or something. I was fine with the Evo III until it was about 8 or 9 months old then it melted one every few weeks on carpet :x
It will be interesting to see if these diffs make any difference, because if they do then I'll be getting a set for both the Evo's.

Cuz,
If Dale is racing it this week - will you still have to shout on him every time he has to race??? or do you think he will drool over it? :P
scotty
9th June 2005, 07:51 AM
Oh he'll be drooling over his new car and if he doesn't it'll be my new chassis and not his. He's very impressed with it and i admit it so am i.
