In Formula 1 when the leader is approaching back markers?
Do they
A - Move out the way giving the race leader the racing line and room to safely get away
or
B - Take their time, then give the leader just enough room to squeeze through then take him off the track at the very next corner?

It might be an idea Kenny to have a bit of a discussion with all our members before the racing starts next week and make them aware of what to do in the scenario you mention. (I won't be there incidently so someone else will need to take over my share of building the track)
There are a few who are pretty determined not to move out the way when they are being lapped and probably just need a quiet word in their ears. If we continue to let it happen and then just complain after it happens nothing will change. A more formal approach is the only way.............
I had my own problems with this very issue last night before my race came to a premature end. I get frustrated with drivers I've lapped more than once that still stay on the racing line when I am about to need past them again - why don't they just move out of the way quickly as it would make things so much easier for everyone. If I hit someone because they are on the racing line and I am about to lap them its their race thats ruined too. One thing is for sure the person who is lapping shouldn't have to slow down at all or move off the racing line - end of!!!!!
Anyway rant over.................
Well done on your win last night. Another step closer to winning the chanpionship - best of luck mate!!

There was some very bad driving also shown in the C final last night, one young driver in particular last night was only interested in getting to the front no matter what.My usual ploy of letting them past and repass them when the crash didn't work as the just take you out at the next corner, say sorry each time and just carry on,IS THAT THE RULE :?.Eventually my car could take no more and finally the same person ended my race.I still ended up happy because Ian Hughes broke down before me.When I ran races meetings at CRCC using the allycat software it used to announce over the PA system who was about to lap who, rather than waiting for someone to shout out lapping. It also called the drivers name out durning the race rather than a number. Is this facility available on the club software.I will be avail as usual on friday for track building.
On a totally different note the electricity socket on the back wall where I was pitting last night seems to be faulty, don't know who we should report this too.

Les that sounds like a great idea regarding the announcement from the PA system. Perhaps someone that knows a bit more about the system can let us know if this can be done - every little helps!!
I think I know who the offender was in your race as I have already been hearing from Stephen McNee about problems he has had with what I am guessig is the same driver - again a quiet word in his ear would be the best way to sort this as he is still quite new to racing.

Well said Stephen, but I think it is time we had a pre race reminder as it seems not many (new or old members do the right or sensible thing and end up spoiling others racing) so I will get Scotty to do it next week.

Now come on Kenny, this was discussed at the time and lessons taken away from it... don't go rubbing it in. We all make mistakes

I wasnt it aiming at you mate.
We sorted it out afterwards.
It was a general comment about the racing at the club.
I was using the F1 comparison so people could visualise what those guys do in that situation.

This subject is covered in the club manual that all members signed for and should be using.
It seems that as usual members (not all) just ignore the advice given even when spoken to about it, maybe points penalties should be given for this in future.
We could vote on this in a poll if the clubs members agree, let me know on here.

Hi all
The question has to be asked Malcolm regarding not taking advice! How many times times have I suggested you car is not running straight and week after week, it comes on track the same way. I have given up now.

that's ok then
For those not in the loop - yes I hold my hands up to taking Kenny out just after letting him past going onto the straight... but in my defence the torque had just been wound right up on the motor and I wasn't expecting to exit the corner anywhere near the speed I actually did
I like the idea of an automated system telling you who the leader is - because I've always said that the guy on the microphone can make or break a race depending on how involved and accurate he is. It's damn near impossible to keep track of who is where when there isn't any
For example I was sure I was on the same lap as 2nd and 3rd place on Friday, when actually I was a lap down :???:
You can drive a totally different race when you know exactly what is going on around you
