Its a great series and one which Falkirk racers should try and support if they can.

Can i just echo Kennys comments and ask that everyone with a touring car gives this championship a bash as it's a relaxed, friendly and exciting championship to be involved in and if Falkirk could put as many drivers into it as possible it would be grealy appreciated.

Another great meeting from Dunfermline.
Brilliant track layout and markers.
Well done to all the Falkirk members that attended (apart from Smally)

Well round 2 was yesterday and another good day.

Schumacher and Falkirk made a good representation in the A final with Myself, Kenny Clark, Allan Lindsay and Scott Kenny.

In the B we had Niall Cochran, Alex Robertson, Calum Kirkpatrick.

And in the C we had David Small, Colin Mc'Caffery, Stevie Dow and Mikey Dunn.

A good day and interesting to note that I TQ'd and won both finals with a car at 1500g against other cars at 1350g which makes me wonder how much difference there is.

I'm wondering what people's opinions are with regard to the points scoring system, you get 100 for TQ, 99 for second qualifier, 98 for 3rd and so on.

However in the finals it's 200 for 1st, then 195 for second, 190 for third and so on. So as a result i've got a 44 point lead in the championship and I don't think it'll make for an exciting end to the season, either at the top bottom or middle of the points table I don't see there being any close battles for points.

Just wondered what everyone else's views were on it? I don't know if its too late to consider a change or anything?

Thought I would explain some of the reasoning behind the system, and I appreciate nothings perfect.

The racers (probably you if you're reading this) decided they wanted more emphasis on final points, hence the 5 point drop per position. If you gain places in the final you are certainly rewarded with extra points. As you can see from John's series score you are rewarded for qualifying well, and finishing well.

We also include qualifying as you have raced all day for it, and if you have a couple of bad finals then you are not impacted totally, just think qual' pole, then come last in both finals.

Anyway, as per last year we will let everyone that takes part have their say on the next series. We changed a number of rules on your feedback including how the junior points were allocated, so if the desire is there for a different points system then let us know. I've said it before, it's meant to be an enjoyable series, relaxed and run how the racers want it. In case you are wondering, we will be sending a questionaire to everyone that entered, they will also be handed out at the last round.

I'm sure you will agree great improvements have happened in this years series, the format is good, the track is definately better and the racers are supporting it.

Thanks Derek for clarification. I wasn't having a dig at all, I missed out on last years SCC as I decided to have a break and I'm really enjoying it this year! At the end of the day it's not causing me any problems (yet) as it's working in my favour at the moment, just, like I said it'd not very close (pointswise).

Kenny Clark qualified 2nd, then didn't finish the first final so instead of scoring 292, he scored 264, it's quite a big punishment, and hard to recover from in the championship I think.

I watched a lot of the races yesterday, both qualifying and finals and to be honest I think the standard of driving is going backwards.
There were very few cars that I saw that actually looked well setup and the majority of people looked like they are struggling with rubber tyres on carpet.
I personally really enjoy the SCC meetings but my only gripe is that I find the 13.5 motors far too slow.

John, knew you weren't having a dig, just pointing out why it is the way it is.

The gap looks big, but in fact if you have a bad meeting and someone who is 2nd or 3rd in series has a good meeting the gap could close very quickly.

As I said, it's not perfect, but if there was a perfect points scoring system we wouldn't be changing it every year.

Regarding motors, I don't know. Everyone seems to be able to handle the power, and cars that are not 100% are not all over the place. 10.5's were obviously quicker, so you had to be more precise with the thumbs and car setup. As said previously, the rules are agreed by the drivers, and we do listen, so if you feel there is a demand for change let me know at the end of series so we can make next years series even better.

BTW dates are all agreed, and will be announced in the club calendar when it's released just before the end of the year, but I'm sure you can all work out when they are anyway (clue, 1st sunday of the month).
