I got a newsletter from Raceland Karting today, within the letter it mentioned a new model car track is to built, here is what it says:
Raceland are to construct a new IFMAR spec, radio control model car track ready for the 2007 season. 300 metres in length and good facilities. meantime a full temporary tarmac track, located on our existing car park, will be made available from late August 2006 to clubs and enthusiasts. Any constructive suggestions or ideas for the new IFMAR circuit would be welcomed. the full time temporary track on our 45mX35m tarmac car park will offer podium, pits, electronic timing, ample car parking, and space for easy-up pit bays. the new IFMAR circuit will offer club format for enthusiasts, plus hire cars for kids and corporate groups.
sounds like it could be quite good, maybe it could be in next years SRCA??

some more detailed info:
Raceland Radio Controlled Model Car Circuit
Later this year Raceland karting centre is planning to start construction of an IFMAR specification outdoor tarmac circuit for radio controlled model cars. The karting centre currently attracts around 40,000 visitors per year, and the hope is that this in turn will lead to an increased interest in model car racing, as it has already done for karting in Scotland.
The 2007 model car facility will feature; 300m tarmac circuit, 4.5m minimum track width, design will include a 60m straight, a drivers podium 2.5m in height with clear vision of the full circuit, computerised race management and electronic lap timing, a pits area suitable for easy-up tents adjacent to the circuit (possibly including a covered pits area), and with ample car parking. Drivers and spectators will have access to all other Raceland facilities and amenities throughout sessions, including Jan’s Diner – Raceland’s American-style diner.
Raceland would like to invite interested parties representing a cross-section of clubs, model shops, drivers and the like to contribute to the development of a superb facility for radio controlled model car racing in Scotland, which we see as increasing interest in the sport. We plan to develop the venue as one that will cater for a wide range of tarmac racing models, welcoming drivers from all regions. The new circuit will offer regular practice day(s) and monthly race meetings, with the ultimate aim of attracting top quality championships.
Opening Soon - Prior to work commencing on the new circuit, and in order to generate interest in the new 2007 venue and get some benefit from the remaining summer months, Raceland will be opening a “temporary” track, located next to proposed new facility. The temporary venue will include a tarmac track area of some 45m * 35m, on our existing tarmac car park area, a drivers podium, race management system, space for eezy-up pit tents, and parking for owners. Local clubs and drivers will be offered a free practice session to try out the temporary amenity, and we would welcome constructive input and ideas for the full-blown new circuit.

Does LMTCC have anything to do with this? I remember they where trying to get a track built in the RaceLand car park about 4 years ago. But i believe they couldnt get the funding.

Raceland is probably a 35-45min drive from Falkirk, it has the most amazing outdoor Karting circuit (about a km long) and im amazed they are doing this...will be impressive to see it next year!

Its a good bit past Edinburgh. LMTCC used it to hold Scottish Rounds, they even held it inside the indoor karting hall one year. Very impressive venue.

That's great to hear those guys getting serious again !
they had races for us years ago, like the year it opened, when Chris Russell and those guys were racing the karts there as well.
Piggin' long drive from almost anywhere though, but well worth it !
