Self explanatory really just to see whos is intending to do what this year.

I split myself stupidly last year between each class. I think I will do 19 again it was far more fun than the mod in many cases closer racing which was nice!

Although that leaves the shiny HaraV2 doing nothing :(

Either 19 or open mod just for a laugh

19T class all the way, dont see much attraction towards the 27T class unless you are after a bit of glory!!!

Might have to got sick of Leon beating me so went to 19 now apparently he may be moving into the 19 class :( :)

Anyway got my highest finish at a Scottish event in 19 so guess I cant complain that much.

Yes you are both correct  Your minds ARE in the gutter  Nothing wrong with what he wrote. Its a well known saying around these parts. Does that mean if I mention a certain two forms of swimming they will be censored by 'BIG BROTHER' then

I don't know Ross well enough to decide how he meant it to be honest. It's different when you the guy's dad and know exactly how he meant it. I've heard that phrase used in another context in the past. I acted as I saw fit.

There is moderation on the forum for a reason - where would we be if it was a free for all? It wasn't so many months ago that the forum was taken offline and that was with moderation.

If you don't like how I have moderated or want to ask why I have done something, take it up with me by pm. If you don't like my response then escalate it to the committee or another moderator.

I can only do so much to please people. It's a thankless job, you can't please everyone all the time.

If you want to dicuss this further then start another topic. Lets get back on track with this one.

I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with the moderating that you done. What one person thinks is ok could be the total opposite to someone else and unfortunately that's the society we live in.Let's not go down this road of bickering online again and get back to the topic in question.
Cheers.

Didnt catch the text myself, but if it offended anyone on the board it has to be moderated...

Lets Get back on topic or this one will be closed...

Fair enough, if we're all happy lets continue ...

I'm not 100% sure on what wind to get to be honest. I think I'll probably opt for a Hara Revolution or Reinhard Edition, probably in a 10 single or 12 single.

Maxxed_Ross
18th March 2005, 10:38 AM
I'll probably stick to my as yet unskimmed (full season old!) Hellfire. That thing goes like a rocket if you gear it right (Stirling round last year - Orange blur down the straight  )

Ballsie you got your lathe working yet? I might be requiring your services at some point

MarcRitchie

Ballsie you wont be disapointed with the V2 we have the Haras in 12x1 and they are easily the best modified motors I have ever ran.

So quick, i can only imagine how quick a lower wind would be.

Anyway, im sure I will do 19 as I think that will have the most members in it and racing should be closer.

Ill need to get a bit more speed out of the car though if I hope to compete with.....

i'm not convinced yet by the v2 motors, i was running a brand new Peak vantage 10x2 at the the BRCA indoor finals last weekend, and to be honest i was pretty disappointed with my newly puchased motor. it just didn't have the same punch or top end revs that an old style reedy PT does, which is what i usually run. saying that after a whole days racing the vantage's brushes still looked pretty healthy..... the reedy never does more than 2 heats without needing a skim and new brushes.

That can't be healthy

I'm lucky if I skim a race motor once a season 8)

oh beleive me its healthy enough whens its pulling nearly 50k rpm, scares the **** out of me!!!

I'm throwing myself in at the deep end and don't expect to be too competetive but I'm a speed freek!

I might try a few rounds of 19 tho as you all seem to enjoy it.

Colin Barclay

Ross at top end racing they usually skim and rebrush their motor after every run. It's very expensive to buy all the brushes but that's how top guys get the best from their motors

Its my choice as you know you have roughly the same power as the rest (except for some, but we wont go into that...) and then its down to setup and skill, which most of us can feel we have at least some off!

That's exactly why we are doing it, think about your new racer that only runs at club level.

They will have a 27T, and if they take part in their championship outdoors and like it you may well see them racing 19T or even modified later. It's a way to encourage new racers to take part, we need more people to take part. Yes they might be a bit slower but I'm sure they will enjoy the day just as much as someone taking part in 19T or modified.

Now if anyone else has an idea how to encourage new racers don't be shy.

Let me leave you with 1 final thought

Beginners class 12T mid range motor (i.e. £35 limit) with 4 cells. Would have to be agreed by all Scottish clubs.

Similair speed to 27T current, lower cost as only 4 cells required, lower maintenance, ballraced motors, could replace 27T outdoor championship next year as well. Would it work................

it possibly would work derek but whats the pros and cons of doing it

Maxxed_Ross
24th March 2005, 12:51 PM
I can see the point in changing a 12t to act like a 19t myself, why not just use a de-tuned 19t in the first place?

The other problem would be running 4 cells. How many people are likely to have the money to burn on cells for just that class, or want to chop and change existing cells for one class? remember it's new and younger drivers we're talking about here, so soldering skills might not be that great either :(

ballsie

A lot of them may be using "stick" packs anyway, I've never seen 4 cell stick packs to be honest.
