In light of the ability for anyone using these forums to saying anything (until moderated) about anyone, I though we needed to protect the club from complaint.

I've added the following disclaimer "the views and opinions expressed in these forums do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of falkirk radio car club"

If anyone knows any legal beavers then I'd appreciate finding out if this is sufficient.

it would be a good idea to put this on the home page bud under a disclamer heading or on a page which flashes up before you enter the forum

just a thought

Falkirk Cruise has this as the first thing you hit when you log on the site, might be a good idea if we have something similar...

I don't think we need to go that far, it's not up to us to go out of our way to mention this.

The important part is that it is mentioned.

I definately wouldn't want to affect functionality with it.

Only amemndment I would suggest is as follows

"As this is an open Forum for the Public and Club members; the views and opinions expressed in these forums do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of falkirk radio car club"

and as Big Si says have it flash up or as the first heading to the Forums, with a heading saying this section to be read before submitting replies or threads, witch may be deleted after the moderators have had time to inspect and review.
Thats my 2 pennaff

like your starting pre-amble Malcolm - cheers.

I'm definately not going to have anything flashing up or anything like that. I definately don't want this to alter the look or feel of the site / forum - legally, we don't need to anyway.

sorry Ballsie that's what I was meaning.... that it's one of the first things you see when it loads up :-D

I know we don't have to go to those lengths it was just an example of what other sites are doing
