You know attaching a jet engine to a car could deffinately be described as a cool thing. And when your gonna do something "cool" to a car, normally you would want to do it to a "cool" car. So why on earth have they attached it to a VW Beetle????????????

And how can they describe it as road legal?

If you had taken the time to read it you would know why. ;)

its road legal because its classed as a kit car

I dont think that would make it legal. Shooting 6ft of flames out the back would be a big no-no, before you get into the legalities of having the jet protruding the way it does. Imagine someone ran into the back of it.

Im pretty sure he doesnt have the afterburner on going down to the shops. It still has its normal engine, thats why its a hybrid.

Yeh ok thats fair enough, but it still has a jet sticking out the back of it, and a tank of highly explosive fuel.

I seen this a while ago in a VW mag, and while its a great feat of engineering, I just think they are overhyping the fact that its road legal. It wouldn't pass an MOT in this country with that jet hanging out the back like that.

And I dont think it would be as fast as a 1.2 Corsa with a Peco back box :-D

If it had the Steinmetz one though, then maybe it would :)
