My mate has a B18c powered mini. Its a great showpiece but its virtually useless as a car. I've driven it a few times, and every gear is virtually useless until you get over 100mph (private road ;)) The vauxhall engine will have a bit less power but more low end grunt, so its probably worse.
Plus, have you ever been at over a ton in a mini. Its a bloody scary experience

Personally, I don't think you can beet an original shape Mini Cooper 1.3i, in Electric Blue, with the union jack painted on the roof (NOT A SCOTLAND FLAG!!!). Obviously the interior should have the usual wood cappings as well with the stereo mounted in the centre, rather than on the passenger side under the shelf. Lovely!

mini's are great in a kind of Go-kart like way you can't beat them for the fun factor. however there are some major draw backs.... they don't really have any suspension to speak of so if you hit a big pot hole it hurts.... invariably they leak so in the winter months you don't just have to scrape ice off the outside of the windows but the inside to, so you end up with frost on the dashboard!.. I've still got mine, however it now spends its days tucked away in my folks garage getting dusty.
