Was on tq-racing.com's website this morning and from what i can gather Tamiya are not resting on their laurels and are said to be heavily developing a new belt drive car. From what i can gather it won't be out untill middle of 2006.Whether it'll be a 415 overhaul or a completely new car remains to be seen.
Just thought i'd share that with you's.

Tamiya surely wont go for a radical redesign of the 415. With the car being so successful i'm sure they will just finely hone it rather than start with a clean sheet.

I hear the next car coming with be a TA05, tub style two belt job with plastic rather than carbon fibre, resulting in it being at the lower end of the market.

looks like the 05 is to the 415 like the tb02 is to the Evo 4. If you get what I mean.
And as for the story of a 416/evo5 whatever, that is why I don't race Tamiya anymore, you only just got the car when they bring out another.
Bit too expensive for my taste to change cars so often.
But, I do run X Ray now...... :?

I see exactly what you mean Stu in both points.
The TB range has always stuck together closely, but like you say that means a constantly updating range. I suppose it's a good way of keeping up to date - while still keeping the low entry prices low enough for beginners.

+ Tamiya is still king of the toy car heap, both in terms of sheer volume sold and of course World Champion. I still own more Tamiya cars than any other.

Yeah that point was so obvious I totally forgot about it
I'm up to 17 Tamiyas and only 3 from other makes :D
