Got mine installed the other night and ran using version 180 to make sure throttle and steering was ok.

Added the hotwire and did the 203 upgrade, have recalibrated my servo but now got no throttle and no beeps from the ESC, although have steering.

So re-flashed back to original 180 version and repeated the process but have the same result unfortunately.

I have the ESC calibrated again (no beeps) and the LEDS are working when applying throttle and brake. Have also checked the sensor wire function by turning the motor and that appears ok. Have also tried a different sensor wire but still no joy.

Have emailed Tekin already but there service team is slow to respond. Is there anywhere in the UK I can send the ESC to be diagnosed and fixed?

You need to reverse the throttle channel on the transmitter.
The esc is designed to work with a steering wheel style tranny.

Cheers Kenny, think the throttle was already on reverse as I said it worked with version 180 before. Anyway I then changed this to 'Normal' on the tranny but still no throttle.

Instead I have the last 3 LEDs flashing on the RS which if I use the throttle swaps to the first 3 LEDs flashing. I then recalibrated the ESC but the process was back to front so I must have already had the correct setting on the tranny.

Spoke to Randy @ Tekin (just as well I used my company phone lol) and was told that there may be a problem with the team wave motor I am using as they have experienced issues with them.

Have now fitted a speed passion and reset the ESC but still no beeps so looks like its gonna have to be sent back to Tekin, bugger!

If it was working at first then atleast you know the esc isnt broke.
Try resetting it to factory settings, and do the same with the tranny plus make sure your in a new profile.
Sounds like the esc is recognising the tranny and inputs, so its something you need to change on the trannys settings. When i first plugged in my tekin i was using the pro4 profile and it really didnt like that, wasnt responding at all to throttle inputs, started a new profile and it fixed it. Dont have a clue why.
Maybe a silly question, but when you tried it at first you werent revving it on the car stand really hard? I've been lead to believe that will usually screw the motor and make it seize. Try a different motor connected to the esc.

Havent experienced any issues using Team Wave motors.
Your Speed Passion motor is the same thing with a different label on it.
Sounds to me like you have done something wrong in the esc setup.
I do know that incorrect flashing of the firmware can cause the esc to stop working and requires sent back to Tekin to be reset.

I have tried another motor but no joy still the same happens. I did as the instructions stated for the upgrade, Randy reckons because there are no error codes showing or any chime then there may have been a problem with the download and its not installed itself properly because when I try and do the upgrade again I don't get any lights on the ESC and can't calibrate the tranny, however if I reflash back to the original version I can.

Sounds fooked to me so its going back, hopefully be back in time for Union Sq GP! Good job I can reclaim the postage from my business tho cos overnight Fedex is £70+

Hi,

Did you buy the ESC from a UK model shop?

Much-More UK are the distributor of Tekin products within the UK so if you did, drop me an email to dan@muchmoreracing.com and we'll see if we can sort the problem.

Thanks,

Dan

Thanks Dan but I got it rom Ampdraw Hobbies in the US. If I had known about MuchMore then I would have got in touch.

As far as I was aware though distributors are not authorised to perform service on the equipment and therefore must be sent to Tekin otherwise it may void warranty, am sure I read that on their website or instructions somewhere.
