First to everyone,
If there was a facility on the club website where you could book-in to any/all of the meetings at the club throughout the year, would you use it??
Ballsie,
what do you think bud, if people say they'd use it could you build a book-in page??

I can build a page John; in fact, Bryce did something similar back in 2004.
I'm not sure how we would take the information and use it though. Would I set it to e-mail you a list of people to book in at about 5.30pm on a Friday?

Cool bud,
my idea is to allow people to book into any of the friday nights throughout the year & also so that they can book-in months in advance if they wanted to.
Cause I'm going to create every single meeting in the program, just trying to speed up the setup on fridays a bit

Sounds like a brilliant idea.
I'll set it up to send an e-mail to bookingin@falkirkrcc.co.uk including the date of the meeting and the name of the driver in the e-mail subject.
I'll set up this address so that your computer is configured to receive.
Can we have a chat about this on the 17th and throw together a few more ideas?
Cheers.

:offtopic: but it was Bruce's 21st at the weekend there:shock: and he starts a real job next year as an accountant:cool: So all in all he's doing OK. I did ask if he thought about a comeback and he's not ruling it out

Hi all
I had all the rounds completed in advance within the race program last year, and it was easy to use and worked great.
I have already done it as the 2009 calender for next year as well, and have it on my USB stick ready to update the Club's PC with all the drivers's member status (for points allocation) and new member numbers as per their overall position in 2008.
There is no real problem with booking in on Friday nights, providing the racers are in the BBK Database, it only takes seconds to book in each driver. If there is anew driver, then he/she has to pass details.
The problem may now be irradicated as Malcolm is going to bring the PC at the beginning of the night and it will be ready earlier to start booking in.
I think it would be double work for someone to book in from an e-mail rather than just doing it there and then on a Friday.

Thats more what I meant as the membership form I have is full of my details but is maybe 4 years old but I filled a new membership form last year but there must have been a problem between handing the form in and updating the system.
I was not meaning booking it but more updating the database.

The membership forms were handed out last year with the details preprinted, and the same for this year. If your details are not correct on the form, then that is what the PC has on record for you.
I did not collect the forms back in last year or have anything to do with updating the spreadsheet, maybe Yvonne missed a few changes, I can't say for sure how records have not been updated. Please amend your details on this year's form and hand it in when paying your subs.
Malcolm has a copy of the spreadsheet and when the membership forms are returned this year he should be able to update the spreadsheet and send the form to the person that is going to update the records. I don't know if John is going to do that or myself.

I'm not going to open online booking in for week to week use but may use it to allow people to update their details to FRCC database.
Cheers
