I think its safe to say all us petrol heads of FRCC will want to sign this petition (if you have not already done so of coure).
"Sign and pass it on. it only takes a minute.
The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver.
A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill.
If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website"

When was this actually "proposed?"
I've only ever heard about the BBC trials etc.

Well, you know what to do guys.
Vote the current lot out of government. Vote the other lot in. And I dont mean the Lib Dems because they are likely to be worse when it comes to car policies. Its not that I am a tory but this government has got too big for its boots and thinks it can do as it sees fit. It happens whatever party is in power for a long period of time. Labour want us to think more tax = less carbon emissions = world peace and us to think they are wonderful. However you have to be an idiot to be accept that. It is clear that they are taxing cars because it is easy, it makes it seem as if they are doing something and it makes them rich and allows them to maintain a strong economy without attempting anything radical or anything that is too much like hard work!
In Britain nearly 100% of the population complains but nowhere near that actually do anything about the situation.
I suppose signing the petition is a good start.....................

the conservatives have promised to reduce speed cameras and start ripping up speed bumps (apparently the delays they cause to the emergency services causes 300+ deaths a year!)
I'm voting for them

Do you know that when speed bumps are laid a ambulance or fire engine would be able to go over a speed bump but there tyres go by each side of the bump. In theory this is good but some are not laid to this specification.
Another useless fact.

Most of the ones round here are, but not all of them are the mound type. To be honest busses are about the only things wide enough not to touch them. :?

I take it you'd be happy to pay £30+ per month running your car = £360+ road tax annually

I really doubt this will happen in this format - it would be far too unpopular a policy.
I believe a study group was set up to trial etc, nothing more.
