Ok, The 3rd round of the SRCA is fast approaching and its Falkirk’s turn to host it. this year we have chosen to use Benarty as the venue instead of little kerse.
The committee are looking into ways of improving the track condition, so hopefully there will be lots of great racing.
the Falkirk round usually has a high attendance, so we want the same again this year, the more racers we get the better it will be for everybody.
book-in online at srca.org
dates for the diary: track setup 3rd July
Race day 4th July

there hasnt been much response to this... Could you let us know if your coming along on the saturday to help prep the track. Many hands make light work, also if you help setup up then practice will be available :)

Thanks to all falkirk members who have turned up today to help prepare the track for tomorrow's racing. Myself, Allan, Dad Niall and Mark Ross. Thanks also to John Simpson and Sabrina, Ian Mcandrew, Gordon Dempsey, Marc Baynham, Kev Falconer.
Disappointing turn out from the club members to prepare for our round of the SRCA tomorrow.

Yes can see where you're coming from John but last year their were 4 or 5 of us that turned up to get the track ready after so many promising that they'd help, so i know what you mean. I hope tomorrow goes well but unfortunately i won't be there as i'm working back shift, covering someone who needs time off.........

Nah Kenny, It was one big puddle, and it never really stopped raining.
We only ran a heat and a final and were home at lunch time because only four people ran.

Glad I missed it then.

Not a very nice statement Kenny.
Although four people only ran, 12 did book in and paid their fees with no intention of racing. If everyone else had turned up that said they were at the beginning of the season, Falkirk would have made a profit. As it is, it has made a loss on running the round.
Apart from last year, myself (who doesn't race) John and Allan have been greatly involved in the set up for the club's SRCA round which have always been enjoyable. We didn't just not turn up last year, is was well documented that due to other commitments we couldn't manage on the Saturday, but nevertheless we were there until late tidying up along with other non-racing members of the club.
I think we should drop out of running a round in our national championship.

I think we need to run regularly at Benarty to get people back interested in outdoor racing.

Purely based on the weather Alex. You know me and wet weather racing.
I was working all weekend and couldnt get the time off to come.

We run regularly every week, and people can't even come along to that.
What is the problem? Is there a problem? Or are people just on holiday etc. at this time of year. Is it the lack of wood racing, or the track markers or the organisation of the nights?
Turn out at the club recently has been terrible.
It has been said, (and I agree) that the club nights are too rushed, so speaking with dad we think it would be possible to give an hour per round at the club. So long as we're ready to start at half past 7.
Thoughts?
John
