Okay i thought of this one for Rover. If we are considering cars made today I would say this is the worst 'modern' Rover. Lets face it, if you had to consider all the rovers from days gone by you would be there all day. I thought about the Cityrover but it is actually something called a TATA and judging by the other TATA's i have seen the Cityrover looks like it is hewn from granite in comparison.

The streetwise has absolutely no redeeming features. It is not even 4WD, it has the aesthetic qualities of the face of somebody that could eat an apple through a letterbox and it has a Rover badge on it!

The worrying thing is that I have seen quite a few of these driving about!

We could do worst old cars next.
Therefore I nominate the Volvo 440 for worst Volvo. You might ask why i never nominated the 340. This is because these are rear wheel drive and therefore you could at least attempt to have fun. Also with the 340 they clearly made no effort to make it look good but with the 440 they got their styling department to come up with some of the worst bodykits known to man.

Because they are class leaders in safety - Renault have balls, you have to salute them for that.

That may be but that's no excuse for making such god awful ugly cars. Every one of the range has gone all wedge shaped

I don't mind the way Renaults look - apart from the Modus which is awful!

Thing is though Renaults, and all other French cars are crappily built. Renaults are saffer than they actually claim... they will probably break down before they actually reach a possible crash :P

I'm so glad I nominated the  206  for being worst Peugeot. I took my mums to my local garage today since MORE things have went wrong with it - SO FAR it needs:

New back box + mid section to its exhaust
Top strut mountings (front)
N/S CV gator

I still have this feeling the rear shockers are on the way out too :x ... lot of squeaking coming from the back (and it ain't the elephant hide feeling plastics!)

This car is a T-plate, but only just went over 30'000 miles a short while ago. Makes you wonder what adventures we'll have with it over the next 30'000 miles

We should have bought a Fiesta! Or even a Corsa... well maybe we wouldn't go that far

i think you will find fiestas are the same

yvonnes fiesta needs

rear shocks
a front tie bar
and front pads
oh and it had an exhaust last year

and its an s plate and has only 27000 miles on the clock

so do us all a favour and stop bitching if you dont like something

this just goes to show all cars are alike and can go wrong at any time!!!

all the more reason to get rid of it (or STRONGLY suggest it) or crash it maybe the latter wold be best but come on face it every car has faults

Oh I agree with you, that all cars have their faults! Funny you should mention getting rid of it, it was borught up briefly last night when we were talking about it.

I think the other thing I forgot to mention is also the repair costs. The faults on the fiesta will probably we easier mended than on the 206, which seems to require more labour time.

Crash it you say... hmm

I had a mate at college who was thinking of crashing his 206 to get rid of it, but didn't want to loose his ncb of about 3 yrs.

So Barry suggested (being the bright spark he was:roll: ) that he make sure that it's someone else's fault, like flash them at a junction and don't slow down too much. Legally it would be the other persons fault  He was just joking of course as the car didn't seem that bad on the outside. We had a good laught about it.

Anyway later that week on the way to lunch the usual bunch of di... erm ... fellow students were following us almost bumper to bumper, so Craig decides he's going to give them a blast of the fog lights to give them a fright. He does and as he's laughing at the guys behind this huge white van starts to turn in across the road infront of us. Now we were moving a fair bit and almost didn't stop!

The plan almost worked by accident

Provided no-one would have got hurt, thats a shame :( - just think that could have been one less 206 on the road....to smoke my car (*he mummbles out the side of his mouth*)

Hey don't get me entirely wrong. The 206 is a GREAT, FANTASTIC, BEAUTIFUL looking car - it really is! Peugeot really got it the looks right. Its been around for a long time too now but its looks have aged very gracefully. I think most Peugeots look good, both older (except the 309) and the latest ones. That new 407 looks quite distinctive with its wide mouth at the front. Kinda like the idea Ford had for the Scorpio, but done right 8) . I always liked, and still do like, the wee 106 (GTi 8) ). Was sorry the day peugeot decided to take it out of production.

The 206 though is riddled with faults unfortunately. Peddles which are rediculously too close together (yes I'm aware a 106 is worse). The interior really is very poorly built and very very cheap and tacky round the edges. It buzzes and rattles a lot too. The driving position is...lol, i can't even decribe just how awful that is! I really am not joking, I feel more comfortable both short and long drives behind the wheel of my Orion, and lets face it, cars have moved on a lot in terms of comfort and driving positions since the 80's. I have also driven for an entire day for over 100miles a Fiesta 1.25 Zetec (old shape - same as Si's gf car) and it is just so so much nicer to drive! I mean the 206 is actually an alright drive, but its not a Fiesta! Again though, fair point Si, that could be down to personal taste. I use to like Peugeots a lot though. Its amazing how one lemon can oput you right off a car company! That better not happen with me and Ford :?
