Copied straight from racechat because I couldn't be bothered...

Ello All,

Thats us up the road and had a slice of mum's home made cake for the old man's birthday on Saturday!

Had a fantastic weekend, went done on Friday and got some testing done. It rained on Friday night and the track was damp in the morning, so Superpole was run on wets, then round 1 declared as a dry round and the rain came down around the start of heat 3, so the track was a bit wet for us in heat 4 but we had to go out on the control Tyre, which worked well considering the conditions, was really pleased about that.

Fortunately though it dried up and we got back on the control tyres good and proper, so... about the Tyre? Unfortunately I've not managed to make it to any of the MMGP's previously this year but I have heard mixed reports about the tyres, and In my opinion it's Ideal for the job it's intended to do! The car took a bit of work to get it to run well on the tyres but eventually got there. Running 19 laps in 306 seconds around Carlisle isn't easy on even a Sorex! The tyres seem to be very durable also, with my FTD coming from Round 2 today on a set of Tyres on their 7th run.

Anyway, enough about the Tyres...

I really had great fun, was pleased to qualify second yesterday, however had 2 bad finals and finished 4th. Allan had a great day, qualifying 4th and finishing a strong second overall.

Today I had a better day, after some further testing on Saturday night I got the car running even better and managed to put it pole after having some good racing in the qualifying. Finals also went well with some really close racing, usually spoiled by a slight mistake however still had a great day and to win just put the icing on the cake

I'd just like to say a big thanks to Keith at Much-More UK for his support, everyone who helped organise the series, all those who helped organise todays meeting, and get the track into such great condition and also thank Dewi Jones and Tom Jefferies for racing as it was good to see and compete with some of the "bigger boys"

For next year my suggestions might include, Losing the round by round qualifying (a pet hate of mine) and also have 2 finals from 3 rather than 2 from 2 as it makes it a bit pointless racing a second leg if you've had a bad first one. At least if you can drop one it might make things a bit better!

Disappointing again to see such a poor turnout from the Falkirk Club Members.

We used to make up more than half the entry list at many meetings outwith our club however there was only Me, Allan, Dad, and Smally

Sad Times :confused::(

Sad times indeed, glad you and Allan had a great event and well done. It just seems we're not getting numbers doing anything anywhere at the moment even the friday night club.

Thanks John. Great to see local drivers standing their ground and performing extremely well at the track. John, Allan, Chris etc all did a great job and 'yes' you were using the same tyre as Dewi and Tom in the damp on Friday and Saturday and in the scorching heat on Sunday.

I just want to say thank you to everyone involved in the Carlisle club for hosting the event. 26deg sunshine and a superb atmosphere made for a great meeting.

Congratulations to Dewi, Tom and Allan for their pro-stock results on Saturday and to John, Chris and Dan for their modified results on Sunday. Well done to Tom and Dan for their overall series wins in pro-stock and modified respectively.

We made the BBC news this morning at 0755 which was broadcast across the North East and Cumbria areas and the event also featured on BBC Radio Cumbria and in local papers. Thanks to Dan for pushing this as this is what we really need to work at to keep the club moving forward.

I sent a short race report to several internet news sites yesterday and they are already starting to appear. A huge thank you to Kate for the excellent photography:

Barry is writing a race report to cover the event which we will combine with Kate's photographs and feature in the RC magazines over the coming months.

Finally, a huge thank you to all the racers who raced at Carlilse and supported the GP series. It's a shame we did not get more racers attending but I don't think the lower numbers affected the overall meeting and the very close controlled racing over the weekend.
