On my last visit to the club i did see that the problem with interference is still a factor while Racine in the club possible due to people switching on hand sets to test a repair to there car in the pits or check a set up this is all very well but what about the driver who's car just hit the wall at the end of the strait  because they lost control of it.

I don't think it is as bad as it once was.

Could the club not have a 27 and 40 meg only for use only in pit area that you have to collect and return to race control.

or has this already been tried and failed!

not really possible dave as different radios run different xtals e.g ko run only ko xtals

i run spektrum which i have never had a single glitch with and should never have a glitch with

I've been having a load of problems recently that I never used to have, I'm hoping a recently aquired Spektrum will solve them

Hi Guys

I have often seen drivers (and John, Allan and myself are guilty having done it also) checking their motors etc. briefly before a race. This must stop, to rectify the actual radio interference problems.

However, as Simon says, Spektrum systems seem to be the answer to a load of interference problems, but can be an expensive alternative. In many cases, interference is caused by faulty equipment and dodgy wiring.

It would be beneficial for drivers to tidy up their cars wiring and ensuring that the motor wires were isolated away and separate from receiver and servo wiring.

This also brings me to drivers who actually go racing with faulty wiring. Many a time I have heard drivers saying whilst on track "wiggle the battery wires - they sometimes fall out".

I'm sorry, but this practice is unacceptable, and of course, not the marshals' responsibility. If you have problems with your wiring, please bring it along to me or to any other experienced drivers in the club who I'm sure will gladly offer to help you out. Do not be afraid to ask.

Alex - just to clarify.

Is it ok for drivers with Spektrum to have their radios turned on for short periods in the pit area?

I don't see any problems with that Alan. I don't think it will be a problem unless more that 80 sets are switched on at the one time - highly unlikely. It would be curteous to ask Race Control if it is okay.

Only problem I can see is the younger members seeing the spektrum users with their radio's on and thinking it's ok to do it.

People really need to police themselves with the transmitters. I turn mine on the odd time, but I do have Spektrum and my tranny allows me to turn it on to make adjustments without emitting a signal. But its not normally the less experienced folk who have them on.
